My Fitness Goals & More

by - 04:58

Today is the first day of my fitness journey and I hope that in the next 120 days, I can reach my goals and become a fitter version of myself.

"You've gotten fat!"

That's something that I got used to hearing when I gained about 12 kgs from when I was 17 or 18 years old. I used to be quite underweight and my lowest weight ever was when I was 14 and merely 42 kgs!

I've always been a small person so, at almost 60kgs, I feel like my body isn't what I want. All fitness apps say the same things as doctors---I'm overweight. I can do one of two things in this scenario:

  • I can ignore what they say and eat whatever I want
  • I can do something before it's too late
I do have a family history of obesity and diabetes. You may be thinking that 60 kg is no big deal but, for a 5-foot person, it's actually quite heavy!

I don't want to have a body that I'm constantly ashamed of.
I don't want to hide from mirrors.
I don't want to feel fat in the clothes I wear.
I don't want to avoid meeting people.
I don't want to be panting after climbing 3 flights of stairs.
I want to change for the best.

Daily Weigh in and Stats

Today is the 4th of September and I weigh 58.9 kgs.

This weight will fluctuate as I start going to the gym--I might even gain some weight so, it is important to keep in mind that the inches you lose matter more than the weight you see on the scale.

According to my fitness app, the following is where I'm at today:

During this prep, I want to lose about 10 kgs to hit my goal weight of 49-50 kg.

Here's a list of my goals for the 120 days:
  • Weigh should be between 48 to 50 kgs
  • Body fat percentage should be between 20-25%
  • A healthy and sustaining diet for 5 days a week while staying within the daily caloric intake in the weekends
  • Reducing the amount of alcohol I drink

The Apps I Use

In this section of the blog post, I would like to go through the apps that I'll be using throughout this journey:

  • Mi-Fit App
I use this app with my sleep tracker and weighing scale. So, my basic purpose to use this is to track the hours that I've slept and my current weight, body fat percentage, etc.
  • My Fitness Pal
This app I use simply to monitor my daily calorie intake so that I know I'm eating within my macros and hitting my protein, carbs, and fat.
  • Habit bull
Did I go to the gym today or did I fail? I use habit bull to monitor my habits and create a consistent pattern of all my activities.

The Devices I Use

In this section of the blog post, I'll quickly go through the devices that I use to track my fitness, workouts, and health.

Apple Watch Series 3

I wear my Apple Watch Series 3 the moment that I wake up and it tracks my workouts, activity level, heart rate, steps taken, etc. throughout the day. My daily goal for steps is 10,000 steps as of now and I'm trying to achieve it every day.

I boughy my Apple Watch Series 3 from Amazon. But, the new one is out, too. I personally love being able to trach everything from my swimming lessons to by gym sessions using this watch and I highly recommend it.

You can find it on Amazon using this link: Apple watch.

 Mi Body Weighing Scale

I use this scale to measure my body fat percentage, muscle mass, BMI, etc. The thing that I like about this is that it tells me more than just my current weight, which is something I appreciate. Even if my body weight increases, I prefer watching my body fat percentage decrease.

This is something that I really like to track almost everything about my health with. You cn find this on Amazon as well.

Mi Band 2

One thing that the Apple Watch Series 3 lacks is a sleep monitor! I spend about 30,000 on this watch and it doesn't even have the basic feature of sleep tracking. I didn't buy the Mi 2 band just for the sleep tracking function, though.

I had it before I had the Apple watch and I just use this bad boy to set my morning alarm and monitor my sleep.

It's really convenient.

You can try the mi Band 3 as well but, I'm sticking in Mi Band 2 for the moment.

My Phone

Finally, I use my handy-dandy iPhone 8 plus for all the apps and shiz.

You can find it on Amazon, too.

My Goals With This Blog

I wish to continue writing this blog as a diary to track my fitness and hold myself accountable. I will share my meals, my ups, and downs with you so that you also get inspired to make a change in your life and just forget about everything else and concentrate on your fitness.

I plan to update this blog on a daily basis and I hope I'll be able to do so!
